A new year means new opportunities to improve

With the holidays here and 2021 coming to a close, it's a great time to reflect on an unforgettable year in which Starkville Utilities sought to strengthen customer relationships while helping build a stronger, more sustainable community poised for continued growth and success.

Looking back on our accomplishments, we stayed true to our Renew Principle commitment by completing major infrastructure projects on schedule and on budget. These improvements will ensure that Starkville is served with safe, reliable, and affordable utilities well into the future.

We also followed through on our commitment to improve how we communicate. In light of the ongoing pandemic, expanding our use of electronic tools and technologies has provided safer ways to engage with customers to ensure we’re meeting their utility needs.

As part of our commitment to pursue operational excellence, Starkville Utilities made progress on its Future FOCUS infrastructure initiative, including a sewer system upgrades in multiple neighborhoods and commissioning the new southwest substation to enhance electric service reliability.

In addition, our teams prioritized community investments. Over the past year, Starkville Utilities, with TVA’s partnership, funded grant programs to support local COVID-19 relief efforts as well as school projects focusing on science, technology, engineering, and math education.

With each success, we worked to raise the bar higher and do even better on the next project or customer interaction. Continuous improvement is at the core of our business strategy and is a mindset that will guide Starkville Utilities into the future.
