Take the Bite Out of Winter Bills with Flexible Payment Options
Our tools help customers manage higher heating costs
Raising thermostats and allowing faucets to drip were normal reactions to recent subfreezing weather—but they also may result in higher-than-usual heating and water bills.
While these costs are unavoidable during cold weather, Starkville Utilities offers programs and tools to help customers gain more control over their utility budgets.
"With the winter storm behind us, Starkville Utilities is focused on helping our customers take control of their energy costs. We offer a variety of tools and resources to help you understand your usage and implement strategies for saving money, no matter the weather."
Customers can email the utility at support@starkvilleutilities.com, call 662-323-3133 or visit the main office to learn more about these account programs, services and tools:
- Levelized Billing takes an average of the past 12 months’ consumption and allows customers to pay a similar amount each month. This makes bill amounts more consistent throughout the year and is helpful for customers on tight budgets or fixed incomes.
- Pick-A-Due Date allows customers to choose when their payments are due. Being able to time bills with the arrival of paychecks and other income sources provides peace of mind that funds will be on hand when payments are due. This option is available for customers enrolled in automatic bank draft.
- Payment due date extensions give customers up to two weeks after the original due date to post payments to their accounts. Customers must contact Starkville Utilities before the payment due date to coordinate extensions.
- Account management tools enable customers to monitor utility usage, create notification alerts for high usage, and better understand how to access helpful information to manage utility bills through the customer portal, SmartHub. https://www.starkvilleutilities.com/smarthub/
- Free energy workshops are held throughout the community every spring and fall to promote energy-saving practices and products.
“Starkville Utilities stands ready to assist customers during times of high bills and help them proactively monitor and track their utility usage througout the year,” Kemp said.
