Upgrading to SmartHub puts customers in the driver’s seat like never before when it comes to managing their utility accounts. With 24/7 account access, customers can view and pay bills, receive text and email alerts, stay current on balances and avoid late fees—all from the convenience of their phone or computer.
As we launch SmartHub, please be aware of these changes and steps that may apply to your account:
We will now accept payment in the following ways:
Pay Now - This is a one-time credit card/debit card only venue. On this website, click the PAY NOW option and manually pay via credit or with debit card. There is a $3 convenience fee associated with each payment. The maximum amount a customer can pay via credit/debit card is $500, including the $3 fee.
IVR - This is a venue to pay via credit/debit card over the phone by calling us at 662-323-3133, selecting option 1. There is a $3 convenience fee associated with each payment. The maximum amount a customer can pay via credit/debit card is $500, including the $3 fee.
E-check - Customers will go into Smarthub to make an e-check payment. There is no fee associated with e-checks. Customers who use this option will have to sign up for SmartHub.
Bank Draft - Customers may sign up for bank draft at no cost and pay directly from a checking or savings account. The draft will occur on the customer's due date unless if falls on a weekend or holiday at which time it will process the following business day, etc..
Current bank draft customers will be converted over and should see no impact and no need to re-enroll.
Kiosk - The kiosk machines in our lobby at 200 Lafayette Street will accept credit/debit card and exact cash. If customers pay with credit/debit card at the kiosk machine there will be a $3 convenience fee and a maximum amount of $500, including the $3 fee. Customers will have to type 001 behind their account number for the account number to pull up.
Lobby/Drive Thru - Our representatives in the lobby and drive thru will accept cash, check, and money order. Lobby hours are M-F from 8 am-4:30 pm, Drive thru hours are M-F from 8 am-5 pm.
E-bill customers will have to sign up for SmartHub and re-enroll to receive the $2 paperless billing credit by changing the number of bills to zero. These customers will receive the credit on the first bill. There will be messaging sent out to these customers as well as well as efforts to add new customers to this feature.
All customers, even e-bill customers, will receive a paper bill for the first round of billing.

Download the SmartHub app from Apple or Google Play stores.
Once downloaded, open the app and click “By Location.”
Type “Starkville” in search bar.
Select “Starkville Utilities.”
Confirm “Starkville Utilities.”
Register for an account or sign in.
Once logged in, you will be asked to accept the Terms and Conditions.
Customers will need to register and log in to SmartHub.
Customers can then navigate to Bill & Pay section of the app.
Select Pay and Payment Amount.
Select Payment Method Type. Add Bank Account Information.
Select Pay.
