RAMP program helps Mississippians struggling with financial impacts of COVID-19

Starkville Utilities is helping spread the word about a rent- and utility-payment assistance program for Mississippians financially impacted by COVID-19.

The Rental Assistance for Mississippians Program, or RAMP, can provide up to 15 months of rental and utility assistance to eligible households. Funds are paid directly to landlords and service providers on behalf of tenants.

The State of Mississippi received $200 million from the Federal Emergency Rental Assistance Program to help individuals financially impacted by COVID-19. Gov. Tate Reeves directed approximately $186 million of the funding to be administered by Mississippi Home Corporation.
