If you like saving green — whether that means money, trees or both — then Starkville Utilities’ paperless billing program may be perfect for you!
By receiving monthly bills by e-mail, customers can pay balances quickly and conveniently on Starkville Utilities’ secure portal. In addition to free sign-up, customers receive a $2 credit on monthly bills for going paperless.
“Paperless billing gives our customers many ways to save, in addition to monthly credits and saving postage,” said Terry Kemp, Starkville Utilities general manager. “ Not only does it reduce paper consumption, but it also eliminates carbon emissions associated with delivering paper bills to individual mailboxes.”
It’s hard to beat the ease and convenience of paperless billing. Customers receive an e-mail notification as soon as their bills are available. When ready to pay, they simply click a link that takes them to the online customer portal to complete the transaction. Payments post immediately to their account, which helps avoid late fees.
Offering paperless and other billing and payment options is part of the Renew Principle, an initiative that seeks to improve customer service through better communications, more personalized services and new technologies that make it easier and more convenient to do business with Starkville Utilities.
In addition to paperless billing, customers can sign up for automated payments; pay bills electronically by phone, bank draft or e-check; or pay in person at Starkville Utilities’ office, drive-through, kiosk or drop box.
“Customers benefit when they have more choices and more options to manage their accounts,” Kemp said. “We also want them to know that we are here to help. If anyone needs assistance or has questions about our programs or services, we encourage them to contact Starkville Utilities.”
