Winter Storm Office Closure Results in Delayed Bills

Payment due dates have been extended for affected customers

STARKVILLE – The unexpected closure of Starkville Utilities’ office during the winter storm is resulting in billing delays for some customers who will receive bills a week later than usual. In light of the delays, Starkville Utilities has extended payment due dates to provide the standard 15-day window for customers to pay bills.

Affected areas include Oktibbeha Gardens, Green Oaks, Crossgates, and the West Main Arms Apartments. Neighborhoods close to those listed may also be impacted.

“Customers in those areas should be receiving their bills soon, if they haven’t already,” said Terry Kemp, general manager of Starkville Utilities. “We have extended their payment due date to March 10 to factor in the week-long delay due to our office closure. We apologize for any inconvenience and plan to return all billing cycles to normal next month.”

Customers who have questions about their bills are encouraged to contact Starkville Utilities at 662-323-3133 to speak with a customer service representative.

Starkville Utilities is a municipally owned and operated electric and water utility, serving more than 14,000 residences, businesses and industries in Starkville as well as the state’s largest institution of higher learning, Mississippi State University.
