What uses the most energy in your home? What repairs or upgrades make the biggest impact on energy bills? What energy-efficiency projects can you tackle yourself?
Learn the answers to those questions and more by attending a free, one-hour EnergyRight workshop presented by Starkville Utilities.
“Customers will learn a variety of strategies to reduce heating and cooling bills and benefit from savings year-round,” said General Manager Edward Kemp. “Based on rising attendance, we’re presenting more workshops at different times of day so that more customers can attend.”

During workshops, Starkville Utilities’ EnergyRight expert will review energy-saving practices and products that can save money, such as weatherstripping, insulation, HVAC maintenance and lighting management. Attendees also will receive free energy starter kits valued at $40.
“Our goal is for customers to leave EnergyRight workshops feeling informed and empowered to make smart choices about their energy use at home,” Kemp said. “We’re equipping customers with the information they need to save energy, lower utility bills and live more comfortably.”
Starkville Utilities is a municipally owned and operated electric and water utility, serving more than 14,000 residences, businesses and industries in Starkville as well as the state’s largest institution of higher learning, Mississippi State University.
